Knoxville Police have released the names of two women shot Wednesday afternoon at Inskip Elementary in North Knoxville, and police say they've arrested a man believed to the the shooter, Knoxville Police spokesman Darrell DeBusk says.

Shooting reported at Inskip Elementary School in N. Knoxville

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WVLT) -- Knoxville Police have released the names of two women shot Wednesday afternoon at Inskip Elementary in North Knoxville, and police say they've arrested a man believed to the the shooter, Knoxville Police spokesman Darrell DeBusk says.

Knoxville Police Chief Sterling Owen says Inskip Principal Elisa Luna and Assistant Principal Amy Brace were shot. Owen says both victims appear to have "a good chance of surviving."

Hospital officials say Luna is in critical condition and Brace is stable.

Knox County Schools Superintendent Dr. Jim McIntyre says the alleged shooter was authorized to be in the school, but would not say whether he is a teacher.

DeBuksk says no students were involved or injured during the attack.

School officials say Inskip Elementary will be closed for the rest of the week, due to the shooting.
